Givy launched a new gifting method: Ship Now!
This allows customers to send physical gifts to recipients immediately if they know the recipient's delivery address. Not only that, it lets them send multiple gifts to multiple addresses in a single checkout.
Enable Instant Shipping
First, you'll want to enable this new gifting method, and determine whether to enable gift wrapping and physical gift notes.
In Givy, go to Settings, and enable the Ship now feature. If you want to allow customers to add a personal note with their gift, check the Enable for 'Ship Now' delivery method option.
Lastly, if you want to enable gift wrapping for all physical gifts, select Enable gift wrapping, and set the amount you want to charge customers for this service.
Customize Text
We recommend taking a look at the language settings for ship now and gift wrapping to make them fit your brand. In Givy, go to Storefront Assets, and open the Gifting Modal tab to view all relevant language settings.
Customer Experience
Now that this gifting method is enabled, it will appear in the gifting modal for customers.
If customers choose the Ship Now option, they'll be asked for the recipient's shipping address.
If location-based shipping is configured for your store, customers will get shipping rates for this address, then choose the rate they would like to use for their gift.
Fulfillment
Once a gift order with a Ship Now gift is completed, Givy will create a separate order for each of the gifts which need to be delivered immediately. If multiple Ship Now recipients were included in the same order, then multiple orders will be created.
Important: if you've enabled Gift Wrapping or Gift Messages for Ship Now functionality, be sure that your team is looking for order tags to indicate when to wrap the product, or print out a gift note.
The fulfillment order will look similar to the one above. The gifted product will be discounted, and the shipping will be free and match the shipping option selected by the gifter.
Now simply check to see whether this gift requires wrapping, a printed note, and ship the gift to the recipient.
