Include Physical Note with Gifted Orders

When customers choose to send a gift immediately, they may want to include a note. Find out how to enable this on your store.

Updated over a month ago

When the Ship Now gifting method is enabled, recipients don't receive an email, or a URL to redeem their gift. This is because the order is placed immediately to the recipient's delivery address.

In these cases, customers may want to include a note with their gift (maybe along with gift wrapping). If you're able to print a message, perhaps as a gift note, or in an attached gift card, here's how to enable gift notes.

Enabling Gift Notes in Givy

In Givy, open the Settings page, and scroll to the Advanced Messaging Options section. Here, you will see an option beneath the Show custom message area checkbox called Enable for 'Ship Now' delivery method.

Enable this option, and save.

Merchant Responsibility

If you have enabled this setting on your store, it means you need to watch for orders with a gift message, and ensure that your fulfillment team prints or includes the note with the order.

When an order with a gift message is created, Givy will update the order in two ways. First, a tag is added called Gift Message. This indicates that the order contains a message.

Next, the actual gift message will be included as an order attribute, which can be found in the top-right corner of the order details.

Lastly, the message can be found by looking at the gift in the Givy app.
