Pre-Launch Checklist

Here are the things we think you should configure or customize before launching your gifting and gift cards programm

Here are the top few things we think are important to check or configure before going live with your gifting program.

Update Gift Card Product & Enable Gifting

  • Is your Givy gift card product active & configured?

  • Have you enabled the App embed on your live theme?

  • If you had another gift card product, have you disabled it?

Customize Gifting Modal

  • Have you loaded the Send as Gift modal on the gift card and/or product pages?

  • Does it require any theme updates? Do the colors match your brand?

  • Do you have a multi-lingual store? Load the modal in multiple languages.

Confirm Settings

  • Go through all of the Settings tabs in Givy

  • Check the Fraud Prevention settings to understand when a gift will be flagged

  • Make sure the Critical Notifications email is one that will be monitored regularly

  • Ensure that the gifting and shipping settings match

Update Emails

  • Open the Emails page in Givy

  • Click the Sender Config button, and configure your domain with Givy (recommended)

  • From the Emails page, click on Global Settings and update the style of your outgoing emails

    • Add a header with your store's logo

    • Update colors, fonts, and spacing to match your brand

    • Update footer links with relevant URLs

  • Preview the text for all outgoing emails

    • Decide whether to show the gift card code in recipient emails

    • Update the text to match your brand

Add Link to Gift Card Product

  • Update your store's navigation with a link to the gift card product

  • If a link already exists, point it to the new gift card product

Test Cart & Checkout

  • Add a gifted gift card to the cart

  • If product gifting is enabled, add a gifted product to the cart

  • Go to checkout, make sure that the gifted product appears as a product bundle
